Zero Waste to Landfill

Zero waste-to-landfill can deliver cost savings, highlight operational in-efficiencies and provide new revenue streams.

RecyCo have been looking to the future of waste management in Northern Ireland and have looked to the waste hierarchy and at the technologies being used throughout the world to increase recycling and make better use of the residual waste which has traditionally been sent to landfill.

Waste hierarchyThe Waste hierarchy prioritises how businesses and individuals should approach the waste that they produce. RecyCo can focus your business on waste prevention and minimisation along with advice on reuse.

Recycling is at the core of what we do and we have the facility and technology to ensure we can maximise the amount of material you recycle. The non-recyclable element of the waste stream is then subjected to further processing to produce a solid recovered fuel (SRF).

The SRF is burned in cement plants as a substitute for fossil fuels and to generate energy. The unique nature of a cement kiln is that flame temperatures burn in excess of 2,000˚C. This means that the SRF is completely destroyed without producing waste ash or harmful emissions and zero waste.

Our Zero waste to landfill service is available to businesses throughout Northern Ireland.
